TROOP MEETING PLAN MARCH 4, 2003 (ORIENTEERING)

Preopening 10 minutes	Post this troop meeting plan. Set up flags and advancement poster.	SPL	7:00 p.m.
Opening Ceremony 5 minutes	Assemble the troop. Conduct opening prayer. Recite the Scout Law.	SPL	7:10 p.m.
Skills Instruction 20 minutes	New Scouts Prepare to practice the flag ceremony next week, (Tenderfoot 6,Second Class 3). Tell Scoutmaster the Scout Oath, Law, motto, and slogan, (Tenderfoot 7). Work on knot and compass requirements, (Tenderfoot 4a, 4b,First Class 7a, 7b, 7c, 8a).	SPL	7:15 p.m. call for wrap-up at 7:30 p.m.
Skills Instruction 20 minutes	Experienced Scouts Work on Merit Badges.	SPL	7:15 p.m. call for wrap-up at 7:30 p.m.
Patrol Meetings 20 minutes	Record activities, advancement, and attendance. Review calendar. Plan for Yankee Springs Orienteering Outing. Bring first aid kit next week.	PL	7:35 p.m. call for wrap-up at 7:50 p.m.
Interpatrol Activity 20 minutes	Play Blindfold Compass Walk (from Troop Program Resources).	SPL	7:55 p.m. call for wrap-up at 8:10 p.m.
Closing 5 minutes	Scoutmaster's Minute	SM	8:15 p.m.
After the Meeting 10 minutes	Troop takes down this troop meeting plan, flags, and advancement poster, while Patrol Leaders Council reviews the next meeting and plans for the outing.	SPL	8:20 p.m.
