APRIL 27, 2004

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA
7:00 p.m. - Opening and call to order (led by Senior Patrol Leader)
7:05 p.m. - Roll call and reading of the log (minutes) (led by Troop Scribe)
The Scoutmaster agreed to act as Troop Scribe for this meeting.
Present: SPL Chris Cunningham, ASPL Steven McCarthy, Murphy Patrol Leader Ethan McCarthy, ASM Gary Cunningham, SM John McCarthy
The minutes for the previous meeting on March 23, 2004 were read and accepted with correction.
7:10 p.m. - Patrol Reports (given by Patrol Leaders)
Murphy Patrol Leader Ethan McCarthy summarized the progress of Scout Michael Hannah toward the rank of Tenderfoot:
Scoutmaster John McCarthy promised to ask the Troop Committee to schedule a Board of Review for Michael Hannah to advance to the rank of Tenderfoot at our troop meeting on Tuesday, May 18 (Orienteering Open House).
7:25 p.m. - Old business (led by SPL)
Scoutmaster John McCarthy summarized the results of the Scouting for Food Drive on Saturday, April 17:
  • Collected 117 pounds of food and nonperishable items.
  • Donated to Holt Community Food Bank on Friday, April 23.
  • Holt Community Food Bank will send us a thank you note.
Scoutmaster John McCarthy promised to invite the Webelos Scouts in Pack 640 to stay overnight with us at the Mawanjidiwin Spring Camporall on Saturday, May 15.
7:40 p.m. - Big event/monthly outing planning (led by SPL)
Regarding the Mawanjidiwin Spring Camporall, the PLC discussed whether or not to set up camp on Friday night, May 14, or Saturday morning, May 15. Scoutmaster John McCarthy expressed concern regarding the camporee organizers' reaction to setting up camp on Saturday morning. Mr. Cunningham and Dr. McCarthy expressed a willingness to set up camp on Friday evening, if the Scouts were not able to arrive on Friday night. The question was raised regarding whether or not Michael Hannah could arrive on Friday night, if our other Scouts were not arriving until Saturday morning. Dr. McCarthy promised to inquire with the council about this matter.
Ethan agreed to make a list of troop food supplies to be used for meal planning at the troop meeting on Tuesday, May 4.
The PLC agreed to conduct a troop open house at our troop meeting on Tuesday, May 18, with the theme of Orienteering. Ethan agreed to make a sign for this event.
7:55 p.m. Troop Meeting Planning (led by SPL)
The PLC planned the troop meetings for May.
8:10 p.m. New Business (led by SPL)
The next PLC meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, May 25, 2004.
8:25 p.m. Scoutmaster's Minute (led by Scoutmaster)
The Scoutmaster commended the PLC for their work.
8:30 p.m. The meeting was adjourned by the SPL.
