Montreuil-sur-Mer & Amiens |
Montreuil, 500 years ago, was a thriving port. However the river silted up and it is now essentially in the middle of fields. It's on the top of a cliff and is surrounded by a tall brick wall. We walked the ramparts, then had lunch at a very pleasant hotel. General amosphere is English. To avoid Paris traffice, we took the train to Amiens where we picked up a car for a day. |
