September - Aquatics Tue, Sep 4, 2001 Evening Troop Meeting* Tue, Sep 11, 2001 Evening Troop Meeting Tue, Sep 18, 2001 Evening Troop Meeting Tue, Sep 25, 2001 Patrol Leaders Council Meeting**/Troop Committee Meeting*** Thu, Sep 27, 2001 CCP Ice Cream Social /Planned Program Presentation**** Fri-Sat, Sep 28-29, 2001 Car Wash/Swimming Outing***** * Evening troop meetings are scheduled from 7:00 p.m. until9:00 p.m.. Our quarterly Boards of Review are scheduled during these EveningTroop Meetings in preparation for our quarterly Courts of Honor . As the year progresses, the Patrol Leaders Council may decide to replace the first Evening Troop Meeting of any particularmonth, other than those on which we have scheduled a quarterly Board of Review, by another activity (e.g. Town Council Meeting,YMCA swim, D.A.R.E. presentation, a seminar on Constitutional rights and obligations). These activities may be scheduled onany day during the week of the given Evening Troop Meeting.
** Patrol Leaders Council Meetings are scheduled for the same time as evening troop meetings. But they are not regular troop meetings. According to the BSA Junior Leader Handbook, the Patrol Leaders Council is the "decision-making team. The Patrol Leaders Council plans the annual program, then the weekly meetings leading up to the monthly outdoor adventure." In particular, the Patrol Leaders Council plans and publishes the agenda for our monthly outings.
*** We expect Troop Committee Meetings to occur at the same time and place as Patrol Leaders Council Meetings. According to the BSA Troop Committee Guidebook, the Troop Committee is the "troop's board of directors and supports the troop program. " In particular, the Troop Committee, working with the parents of our Scouts, secures the location, transportation, and required adult leadership for our monthly outings.
**** We plan to share our program plans for 2001 / 2002 with the families of the Scouts of Troop 316 at the CCP Ice Cream Social. This event begins at 6:45 p.m. at
Trinity United Methodist Church. Our Scouts will distribute copies of our program plans to each of our families. Our Troop Committee will be available to talk with these families about what kinds of help will be needed from parents to make our program work. ***** This outing is an exception to the rule for typical Boy Scout outings. Ordinarily, these outings will begin with a troop assembly on Friday evening after supper and will end after camp breakdown on Sunday morning. Any exceptions to this rule will be noted in the agenda for the outing which will be published by the Patrol Leaders Council. It should be possible to find these agendas by following the links for the outing on the on-line version of this calendar and our Upcoming Events page a few weeks before the outing.
