We will be working on the Cycling Merit Badge on this outing.
Assistant Scoutmaster Dave Brigham of Troop 33 will be our Cycling Merit Badge Counselor for this outing.
Helmets are mandatory for all participants.
Mr. Brigham will accept sign-offs from your Scoutmaster for Requirement #1 for the Cycling Merit Badge, which covers First Aid.
Mr. Brigham encourages a troop meeting before this outing to cover at least the second requirement for the Cycling Merit Badge.
Requirement #2: Clean and adjust a bike. Prepare it for inspection using a bicycle safety checklist. Be sure the bicycle meets local laws.
Mr. Brigham encourages the adjustments and checklist to be completed at a troop meeting prior to the outing:
"We do not want to spend a great deal of time at the outing getting the bikes in working order for the trips. Inspections will be done before going on the trips. Bikes (and their riders) that do not pass inspection will not be allowed to ride."
