Substitute Pack Rain Cover for High Adventure Outing

John,

If you don't come up with enough stoves, let me know. I'm sure Mr. Brigham will let us use one of his. Both for the shakedown / lunch and the August outing.

I thought I'd pass on a suggestion for substitute pack rain cover. A large leaf bag - cut two holes in it for the shoulder straps or wrap it around the exposed area and duct tape it to itself or the pack. 2nd - everything in the packpack that one would want to keep dry is in zip lock bags - large gallon or bigger would be used for larger items, but an assortment of sizes would probably cover all the items one would want to protect.

An extra hour is conservative for the stove / lunch portion because the 1.5 hours preceeding is also conservative. If there is a need to be done by noon, it shouldn't be a big problem.
