MACKINAC ISLAND OUTING REFLECTION
AUGUST 17, 2006
TROOP 272
BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

Fun - hiking - Mackinac, Ocqueoc Falls

Perfect food - Taco's, Pancakes, French Toast

Likes - chili, the Falls, Ferry, Jumping on Falls, games on water.

Liked camping at Welch's - one night was windy and noisy.

Things went right: food - had to move some things around because of wind, but worked out real well.

Saved $ on Mackinaw and could go on carriage ride.

Need to be flexible to adjuct to changing conditions.

Things could have gone better:

  • Preparation: missing mess kits, water shoes, towels
  • Work on courtesy towards each other.

Henry: food - finding out what Henry likes to eat.

Michael: chili - everyone bring mess kit

Colin : Ocqueoc Falls - Mackinac Island - needs to be better organized; keep boys together.

Martin: food and drinks; should be able to go ?. No!

Xavier: cooking different kinds of food - paying more attention and less video games.

Michael: Mackinaw Island - stay together and not run off like Mr. Cunningham at carriage.

Henry likes cleaning dishes and thinks he and Michael should do all dishes.

Michael thinks Henry should pack all lunches.

Martin thinks he should be Master Chef for Troop.

Mr. Cunningham thanks Welchs for hosting trip.

Mrs. Welch thinks Black Mountain was most fun and most interesting.
