7:10 p.m. - Patrol Reports (given byPatrol Leader)

Michael reported that Northwoods Summer Resident Camp from Sunday-Saturday, July 9-15, 2006 went well.

  • On the first night, Sunday night, the troop went back to camp after dinner.
  • On Monday, the Scouts went to their merit badge classes and switched classes well. They made it to meals on time, and figured out runners for meals.
  • Tuesday also went well, except that Nathan cut himself with his knife. In the evening, the troop went to the archery range from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m..
  • On Wednesday, the Scouts wanted to change the merit badge classes from day to day. Some of the scouts finished some of their merit badges that day.
  • On Thursday, Martin worked on an OA service project. Martin, Michael, and Colin went Rifle River Tubing with Mr. Welch and Paul from the Northwoods staff.
  • On Friday, the Scouts finished up their merit badge classes; went to the Water Carnival in the afternoon; and performed a skit at the Closing Campfire in the evening.
  • On Saturday, the troop broke camp and headed for home about 10:30 a.m..

Michael W. said that he would go again, but would prefer less arguments. He also mentioned that there was too much uncleanness on the outing.

Mr. Cunningham asked the scouts what they especially liked about summer camp.

Michael W. said that he liked working on merit badges, learning life skills, and getting a lot of experience as Scouts.

Michael H. said that he would go again and again and again, as many times as he could.

Dr. McCarthy asked the scouts whether they felt that they had done enough planning for summer camp.

Michael W. and Colin both said that the Scouts could have talked more about what they were going to do at summer camp.

Michael W. said that it would be nice to have the whole troop go to summer camp; that having a few more adults there would have helped; and that a patrol duty roster would have helped.
