|
Troop meetings are scheduled from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.. Our
quarterly Boards of Review are scheduled during these Troop Meetings in
preparation for our quarterly Courts of Honor.
As the year progresses, the Patrol
Leaders' Council may decide to replace the first Troop Meeting of any
particular month, by another activity (e.g. Town Council Meeting, YMCA swim, D.A.R.E. presentation, a seminar on Constitutional rights and obligations). These activities may be scheduled on any day during the week of the given Troop
Meeting. |
|
Patrol Leaders' Council
Meetings are scheduled for the same time as Troop Meetings. But they are not
Troop Meetings. Only those Scouts who are members of the
Patrol Leaders' Council
are required to attend Patrol Leaders' Council
Meetings. According to the BSA Junior Leader Handbook, the Patrol Leaders' Council is the
"decision-making team. The Patrol
Leaders' Council plans the annual program, then the weekly meetings leading up
to the monthly outdoor adventure." In particular, the Patrol Leaders' Council plans and
publishes the agenda for our monthly outings. |
|
We plan to share our program plans for 2004 with the families of the Scouts of Troop 272.
Our Scouts will distribute copies of our program plans to each of our families.
Our Troop Committee will be available to talk with
these families about what kinds of
help will be needed from parents to make our program work. |
|
Troop Committee
Meetings will be scheduled by the Troop Committee.
According to the BSA Troop
Committee Guidebook, the Troop
Committee is the "troop's board of directors and supports the troop
program." In particular, the Troop Committee, working with the
parents of our Scouts, secures the location, transportation, and required adult
leadership for our monthly outings. |
|
Typical Boy Scout outings will begin with a troop assembly on Friday
evening after supper and will end after camp breakdown on Sunday morning. Any
exceptions to this rule will be noted in the agenda for the outing which will be
published by the Patrol Leaders'
Council. It should be possible to find these agendas by following the links
for the outing on the on-line version of this calendar and our Upcoming Events page a few weeks before the outing. |
