Children's Message: Doing Our Best
(Invite the children forward. As they are seated tell them that the Scout Troop is going to repest the Scout Oath.)
"On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight."
Thank you, Scouts. Don't they look nice in those uniforms? (Scouts exit.) Someday maybe some of you boys will be a part of our scout troop.
Scouting teaches us the importance of serving God, our country and people.
Can you think of some nice things that we can do for God? (They may suggest prayer, bible reading, obeying the Bible, going to church, etc.)
What can we do for our country? (Obey the laws, when we get older vote, run for office, etc.)
What can we do to help some of the people that are here today? (Not run in the halls, hold open the door, smile and encourage, etc.)
Even though you are not old enough to be a Boy Scout we can all do some of the things in the Boy Scout oath. We may not always do them perfectly. But the important thing is to do our best.
Prayer: Dear God, We thank you for what the Boy Scouts are learning to do. Help us to do our best for You, Lord, and our country and the people we know. Amen.
