Northwoods Summer Camp
July 7-13, 2005
Netomi Trail
The Netomi Trail "First-Year Camper" program is for new Scouts who are working toward their First Class rank. Scoutmasters are invited and encouraged to help new Scouts get the one-on-one help they need to learn those difficult knots, compass techniques, and other basic Scouting skills.
If this is a Scout's first summer camp as a Boy Scout, and he is on the trail to his First Class rank, he should plan to spend most of his time at Netomi Trail. Netomi Trail is where boys learn the necessary skills to earn all ranks up through First Class. The Netomi Trail typically takes most of the day, but the boy will have time to work on a merit badge or two as well. The program is designed so that the boy can focus on those skills he needs to practice for his rank advancement. Check your Scouts' handbooks to see what skills they need, then check with the Area Director to insure your Scouts will receive the necessary skills.
