"I plan to describe some set-theoretic aspects of abelian groups obtained as direct powers of the additive group of integers (or as subgroups of such powers). Many of the results are concerned with the similarities and differences between these groups and free abelian groups. A set-theoretic point of view leads to connections between these topics and, for example, Baire category and Lebesgue measure."
