Existence and moduli for some noncompact geometric problems

I will discuss some recent work concerning theconstruction of solutions of various geometric problems,typically curvature-type equations on noncompact orsingular domains, via generalized gluing methods, and also discussthe techniques needed to analyze the moduli spaces ofall solutions to these problems. The main settingsfor these issues will be of complete, embedded constant meancurvature or minimal surfaces in $R^3$, and of thesingular Yamabe problem.
