Loop-erased Walks and Total Positivity

Abstract

A real matrix is called totally positive if all its minors are positive. I will discuss total positivity phenomena associated with planar graphs and electric networks, Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps for planar domains, and the two-dimensional Brownian motion.
