Textbook: Harris, Hirst, Mossinghoff, Combinatorics and Graph Theory (2nd ed)
 

Material to be covered: Most of the material in chapter 1 (up to 1.7.2) and chapter 2(up to 2.7.2) of textbook.

Homework and Quiz:

 

      HW will be assigned and collected almost every week. The homework will be due on every Friday at the start of class, starting on July 7. Late homework will NOT be accepted! The Quiz will be given on every Friday at the end of class.  Your solutions must be written up neatly and carefully with appropriated explanations of your arguments and of what you are doing in complete sentences!

You are encouraged to discuss with each other about the problems, but write-ups must be your own work.

Missed Lecture(s):

 

      It is the student’s responsibility to cover the missed materials before he/she returns to class. The student should read the corresponding section(s) of the book and if possible get notes from a classmate.

       Office hours cannot be used as a substitute of a missed class.

 

Grading Scheme:

 

      The homework will worth 120 points and The Quiz will worth 120 points.

      Each in-class exam will worth 100 points.

      The final exam will worth 200 points.
